Aukey 4 Port USB-A USB-C Hub Review

Here we are again with another USB-C hub, this time from Aukey. This is the Aukey 4 USB-A port USB-C hub.

Not only is there a battle on to find the best USB-C hub, on top that there is a battle to modernize using the slim USB-C connector. We are currently in between. Computer manufacturers are switching over to USB-C, meanwhile, the peripherals are still using the bulky and rectangular USB-A. With this problem, we will start to see more and more of our computers have fewer ports in favor of just a few USB-C ports. So can you do to plug in all of those USB-A cables into a single USB-C port?

Meet the USB-C to 4-Port USB 3.1 Gen 1 Hub (model no: CB-C64) by Aukey. This slim, rectangular, $15 adapter can allow you to plug in up to four USB-A devices into your computer. Each port is compatible with the USB 3.1 Gen 1 data speeds which means up to 5Gbps of data transfer speeds.

The slim size of 1×4 inches makes it nice and portable, or a great hub just to leave at your desk or carry with you. You can use this to connect devices to your computer like a thumb drive, mouse, keyboard, camera, GPS, card readers, printers, and so much more. Although Aukey recommends that you still plug your larger power-hungry devices like large external drives, Apple Superdrive, and tablets directly into a port located on the computer because the USB-C standard does not support a sufficient amount of power. The other USB-C end of the hub can plug into any USB-C port including those found on Windows devices, Macs, or even your mobile Android device. The cable length of 6 inches gives you a little wiggle room on where to place it around your desk or where ever you may take it.

I have been using this product for almost a month now and have yet to run into a problem. So far this mini hub has served its purpose very well. So if you have a lot of USB-A cables but no longer have a computer with USB-A ports you should try out this Aukey USB-C to 4-Port USB 3.1 Gen 1 Hub.
