You don’t have to stick with the basic icons on macOS and here’s how to change them. Open an image and use Cmd + A to select the image and Cmd + C to copy the image. Now select the folder, file, or app whose icon you want to change and use Cmd + I to get info. In the Get Info window, select the icon in the top left of the popup and use Cmd + V to paste. And that’s how you change an icon on macOS.
