Content Blockers were introduced to block different objects in Safari. Some content blockers block ads and some block certain keywords. They can block all sites with the word Trump or Hillary in them or block ads on a site.
Would you rather pay a monthly membership for each site you visit or view a few friendly ads? One thing you have to think about is that many websites allow you to view their content for free generating their revenue from their ads instead. So when you have your content blocker enabled some sites might require you to disable your ad blocker. So please think of this as you are viewing mine and other people’s sites. How to Enable a Content Blocker on iOS
To enable a content blocker go to Settings–>Safari–>Content Blockers and flip the switch.
How to Enable a Content Blocker on macOS
To enable a content blocker open Safari. Then tap on the Safari menu–>Preferences. Click on the “Websites” tab at the top and then click on “Content Blockers” on the left.

Trump Trump will block sites on your iOS device that contain the word, Trump.

Do you use a VPN adblocker? You can tell if you are using a VPN Adblocker by going to Settings–>General–>VPN. If you use a VPN content blocker it will be listed here. Those apps are against Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines and have slowly been removed from the App Store. This also means that these apps are unsupported which can lead someone to hack it and being able to retrieve all of your viewing histories. Content blockers are also safer because unlike VPNs all of the adblocking is done locally on your device. In order to prevent this switch from using a content blocker.
